With a Globalization and Development Minor, students are prepared for careers where an understanding of global issues is a leading but not dominant part of their job. These include careers in various non-profit or government positions. Students also are prepared to work in the private sector or internationally.
Geography - Globalization and Development Minor
The Globalization and Development Minor provides students with an understanding of contemporary global issues and a framework for key issues in national and international development especially as it relates to developing countries. The minor emphasizes an integrated approach to studying the relationship of global change to individual and community well-being.

How to Add the Minor
The minor is open to all undergraduates except those majoring in Geography.

Courses & Curriculum
Students take 18 credit hours, including at least 6 hours, including foundation courses in human geography, the developing world, and environmental geography. Regional geography courses cover Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Appalachia.
