About Dr. Hampson

Sarah Cote Hampson is the author of The Balance Gap: Working Mothers and the Limits of the Law (Stanford University Press, 2017) and co-editor of Mothers, Military and Society (Demeter Press, 2018). She has also authored and co-authored numerous journal articles and book chapters on topics related to race and gender in American law, politics and public policy. Dr. Hampson’s career has spanned positions in both academia and local government, and she is particularly interested in studying public policy and its impacts.

Dr. Hampson’s teaching philosophy focuses on inclusive and engaged learning. Her course offerings include both undergraduate and graduate courses in Political Science and in affiliation with the Center for Law, Justice & Culture.
