"The MHA program at ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ strengthened my strategic and analytical mindset, especially through the coursework in finance, strategic planning, and epidemiology. These areas deepened my understanding of population health and helped me approach operational challenges with a broader, systems-level perspective. The program also reinforced my ability to lead cross-functional initiatives with clarity and purpose, which I apply daily in my role, driving enterprise automation and workflow optimization.
The best course I took was the Lean Six Sigma course, which was immediately applicable in my work and led to enterprise automation and workflow optimization. It provided a structured approach to identifying inefficiencies and implementing sustainable improvements. Financial acumen and data analytics have also been invaluable across multiple areas of health care, from evaluating investment decisions to supporting population health strategies. These skills help me balance operational priorities with long-term impact.
I also received meaningful support throughout the MHA program, especially from Dr. Cristina Popescu. She guided me through selecting a specialization that aligned with my long-term career goals, taking the time to discuss the strengths of each path. Later, during a difficult period, Dr. Popescu helped me navigate state requirements to apply for unemployment while continuing my degree at ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ. Her responsiveness and empathy made it possible for me to stay on track academically while managing the challenges of job searching and maintaining mental resilience.
If your goal is to lead within health care, I highly recommend the MHA program. While there are faster options available, they do not offer the same health care-specific focus that ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ does. The curriculum is well-rounded and offers the right amount of challenge, while also being manageable for working professionals. I completed the program while leading strategic initiatives, raising three children and navigating a major career transition. It was a demanding time, but I was able to stay on track and continue learning while growing professionally and personally."
