Director of Quality Improvement and Risk Management
Candace Arena, CTRS, MHA 2023

"The most valuable part of the online MHA at ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ was the exposure to various course topics that prepared me for future health care jobs and positions.

The knowledge, skills and professional connections I gained have made me an asset to my role during and after graduation."

Senior Manager Project Program Management, CVS Health
Jenni Mollman, MHA 2025

"The MHA program at ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ strengthened my strategic and analytical mindset, especially through the coursework in finance, strategic planning, and epidemiology. These areas deepened my understanding of population health and helped me approach operational challenges with a broader, systems-level perspective. The program also reinforced my ability to lead cross-functional initiatives with clarity and purpose, which I apply daily in my role, driving enterprise automation and workflow optimization.

The best course I took was the Lean Six Sigma course, which was immediately applicable in my work and led to enterprise automation and workflow optimization. It provided a structured approach to identifying inefficiencies and implementing sustainable improvements. Financial acumen and data analytics have also been invaluable across multiple areas of health care, from evaluating investment decisions to supporting population health strategies. These skills help me balance operational priorities with long-term impact.

I also received meaningful support throughout the MHA program, especially from Dr. Cristina Popescu. She guided me through selecting a specialization that aligned with my long-term career goals, taking the time to discuss the strengths of each path. Later, during a difficult period, Dr. Popescu helped me navigate state requirements to apply for unemployment while continuing my degree at ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ. Her responsiveness and empathy made it possible for me to stay on track academically while managing the challenges of job searching and maintaining mental resilience.

If your goal is to lead within health care, I highly recommend the MHA program. While there are faster options available, they do not offer the same health care-specific focus that ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ does. The curriculum is well-rounded and offers the right amount of challenge, while also being manageable for working professionals. I completed the program while leading strategic initiatives, raising three children and navigating a major career transition. It was a demanding time, but I was able to stay on track and continue learning while growing professionally and personally."

Alumni
Mallory Myers, MHA 2024

"The professors involved with this program are great – they had a lot of experience in the field and added a lot of additional insights to the classes they taught."

Accreditation Program Manager, Cleveland Clinic Foundation
Alaa Nawaya, MHA 2025

"A key focus of this program is learning to deliver information concisely and to communicate effectively with leaders.

Although this was an online program, I was still able to interact with my professors through office hours and engage with other students in the program through group projects. The program was very flexible for full-time working professionals. I had the opportunity to form friendships with students from other states, sharing experiences and learning from each other.

Use the resources! The faculty was very supportive when I reached out about applying for an administrative fellowship, as well as my current position.  Also, Career Services was available to discuss my goals, help create a CV and prepare for interviews."

Clinical Manager, Nationwide Children’s Hospital
Rebecca Romero, MHA 2024

"The MHA program provided a well-rounded curriculum that adequately prepared me to take the next step in my career. Since graduating from the MHA program, I have been promoted to the role of clinical manager of my department.

I would encourage anyone considering the MHA program at ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ to take the leap. When I enrolled in the program, it had been over a decade since I completed my undergraduate degree, and the thought of going back to school was overwhelming. But the layout of this program is manageable for a working professional, and it is absolutely worth it in the end."
