Expert Bio

Dr. Edmond Y. Chang is an associate professor of English at 蜜柚视频. His areas of research include technoculture; race, gender, and sexuality; video games, analog games, LARP, queer game studies; feminist media studies; cultural studies; popular culture; and 20/21Century American literature. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on queer American literature, speculative literature of color, virtual worlds, games, everyday media, and writing.

Recent publications include 鈥淟ooking for Asianfuturism: Asian American Science Fiction and Digital Games鈥 in Techno-Orientalism 2.0: New Intersections and Interventions, 鈥淲hy are the Digital Humanities So Straight?鈥 in Alternative Historiographies of the Digital Humanities, 鈥淒rawing the Oankali: Imagining Race, Gender, and the Posthuman in Octavia Butler鈥檚 Dawn鈥 in Approaches to Teaching the Works of Octavia E. Butler, and 鈥淨ueergaming鈥 in Queer Game Studies.

In addition, Chang has two book-length projects:
