Kuhn directs the university’s esports program, an initiative to bring competitive video gaming, associated areas of academic study and research, and a designated esports facility to OHIO. He leads this initiative with members of the Bobcat Esports club, a 250-member student organization advocating for stronger integration of games and games studies across campus.
Kuhn frequently delivers talks on educational technology in areas as diverse as instructional design, games in education, and artificial intelligence. He is a member of both the and the mostly recently traveling to Morocco and Saudi Arabia to deliver workshops and presentations on artificial intelligence literacy in educators. He has delivered talks, workshops, and keynotes on educational technology in over 20 countries.
Kuhn served in Peace Corps Mongolia before receiving his Master’s in Linguistics and PhD in Educational Technology. His dissertation explored the problem-solving and distributed cognition of online gamers, and his subsequent research has investigated human behavior in digital environments.
