Expert Bio
Dr. Jixin Chen is a professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at ÃÛèÖÊÓÆµâ€™s College of Arts and Sciences. His work interdisciplinarily at chemistry, physics, engineering, and materials science, with a focus on developing advanced measurement tools and high-performance analytical methods for solving complex scientific and industrial challenges.
Dr. Chen earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Texas A&M University in 2010 and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and Rice University. He joined ÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ as a tenure-track faculty member in 2014 and was promoted to full professor in 2025.
His research program spans instrument development, spectroscopy, and super-resolution microscopy, as well as applied materials research involving perovskite solar cells and quantum dots. He is also recognized for creating optimization algorithms and software packages that accelerate data analysis, modeling, and high-throughput research workflows.
