Overview

This hybrid program blends two weeks of immersive travel in Ireland with flexible online learning prior to departure. Students will explore Ireland’s remarkable transformation over the past fifty years through literature, history, and site visits connected to key moments of change.

From the Northern Ireland Peace Process to immigration and the tech boom, students will examine how Ireland has grappled with colonialism, religious intolerance, and gender inequality while also embracing cultural renewal. Visits to Dublin and rural towns linked to celebrated writers bring these themes to life.

The program concludes at an Irish literary festival, where students will engage directly with contemporary authors and deepen their understanding of global citizenship through stories, history, and lived experience.
