August 13, 2025

ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ Libraries is pleased to announce the appointment of Lincoln Howard as the new Research Services Student Support & Humanities Librarian, effective August 18, 2025.

As a member of the Research Services team, Howard will play a vital role in developing and delivering research and creative activity services for both undergraduate and graduate students. He will cultivate partnerships with student-focused research and creative activity programs, units, and events to provide intentional outreach and tailored support. In addition, he will serve as a subject librarian with a focus on the humanities, offering instruction, reference, and consultation services to faculty and students in English & Literature, Theater, and Film. As part of the arts and humanities disciplinary team, he will also collaborate to build sustainable collections that support the University’s research and instructional missions.

Howard most recently served as the Undergraduate Internship Program Coordinator and Graduate Research Assistant in Reference Services at the Harry Ransom Center, where he discovered his passion for supporting student research. While at the Ransom Center, he led primary source literacy sessions, processed archival materials, and provided public service in the Reading Room.

He also worked at the University of Texas's Architecture and Planning Library and the Physics, Math, and Astronomy Library, and volunteered with the Austin History Center, where he helped develop a cataloging manual for its rare zine collection.

Howard holds a Master of Science in Information Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in History, Government, and Humanities, both from the University of Texas at Austin.
