Multi-Year Appointment Process

HCOM Clinical and Instructional Faculty
July 2023

The Senior Director of Faculty Affairs in the Office of Faculty Learning and Advancement (OFLA) solicits recommendations for multi-year appointments for clinical and instructional faculty from chairs each May.

The chairs make recommendations for multi-year appointments based on the guidance provided in the Faculty Handbook (see below), while also considering performance and future needs of departments.

Recommendations for multi-year appointments are reviewed by the Associate Dean for Faculty (ADF) and forwarded to the Executive Dean for final approval.

Once approved by the Executive Dean, multi-year appointment letters are sent to faculty by the Senior Director of Faculty Affairs in May/June.
