(Modified from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Slide 17)

  • Encourage students self-assess learning progress (at the beginning, middle, and end of the session, you may ask students to self-assess their confidence in meeting the sessions objectives).
  • Ask students how the session went before it ends (let them know at the beginning of the session you will be asking this).

Goals

  • Create opportunities for active, authentic learning
  • Apply a growth mindset 鈥 Be open to learning; Be open to facilitating conversations involving different perspectives; Admit when you don鈥檛 know and then work with students to resolve.
  • Go beyond informative to reach deeper levels of learning. 鈥淭each Thinking, Not Facts鈥
