Petition to Drop a Class After the Drop Deadline
Dropping or withdrawing from a class is prohibited under registration deadlines, but under very exceptional circumstances students may petition their home academic college or regional campus dean's office for an exception. Your home academic college can be found at the top of your DARS; examples include the College of Arts & Sciences, College of Business, and the College of Health Sciences and Professions.
To be considered, the reason must be substantial. Fear of earning a low grade in the class, for example, is not considered an exceptional circumstance. You must submit a separate petition for each class you wish to drop. You may not petition to drop a class that you have already completed.
