Benjamin Tetteh
PhD, is an award-winning journalist, documentary and features producer and a critical scholar. He held various positions in newsrooms including reporter and producer, host of the Breakfast Show and managing editor. He has reported for national and international media including Joy News & Radio Ada (Ghana), West Africa Democracy Radio (Senegal), the BBC and UN News. Over the years, Benjamin carved a strong reputation for in-depth investigative journalism, and has produced award-winning documentaries and features covering mining, climate change, child rights, and the UN sustainable development goals. He played a pivotal role as Board member of Africa’s first investigative journalism body (FAIR) and has served on the board of the Foreign Press Correspondents Association, USA, for about four years. Dr. Tetteh holds a degree in psychology from the University of Ghana and a master's in journalism (Digital Innovation) from New York University. He completed his PhD in mass communications at the Newhouse School of Public Communication, Syracuse University. His dissertation focused on the threats to journalistic editorial independence and the mechanisms journalists use to cope with those threats. In his spare time, Professor Tetteh loves to devote time to social justice and community service initiatives.
