Eastern Campus Student Employment Opportunities
The Eastern Campus employs student workers in several offices or units on campus. Common examples include the library, ÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ Learning Network (OULN), student services and campus facilities.
Eligibility For Student Hourly Employment
To be eligible for student hourly employment at ÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ, a student must be enrolled for classes at ÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ, Hocking College, or another post-secondary institution or secondary school during the current semester, immediately previous semester or immediate upcoming semester. For instance, if a student is enrolled in the spring semester, then they may continue working through the summer.
Please note: Homeschooled students must supply appropriate documentation.

Help Desk/OULN Student Workers
Job Responsibilities
- Operate touchpad or web interface to control in-room technology including cameras, microphones, PC, and document camera.
- Provide troubleshooting on the technology.
- Disseminate and collect paperwork associated with the class.

Library Assistant
Desired Applicant Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position is:
- Customer service oriented with an ability to interact with diverse populations.
- Self-motivated with an ability to work independently.
- Practices excellent time management.
- Reliable and able to report to assigned work shifts.
- Knowledge of general office and basic computer skills (including Microsoft Office Suite). Some knowledge of library searching skills preferred, not required.
Job Responsibilities
- Staffing/serving as point of contact at the service desk.
- Helping library users access electronic and print library collections.
- Processing library materials including checking items in/out.
- Shelving returned items and maintaining orderly shelves.
- Trouble-shooting equipment/hardware issues and assisting users with software questions.
- Performing general data entry of library statistics.
- Other duties as assigned.

Facilites Management Student Worker
This 20-hour per week position involves miscellaneous physical activities associated with the maintenance of the physical surroundings at Eastern. Only ÃÛèÖÊÓÆµ Eastern students are eligible to apply.
Work hours will be scheduled around academic requirements and to meet the needs of the Department. Some early morning, evening, or weekend work hours may be required. State of Ohio minimum wage laws apply.
Desired Applicant Qualifications
- The desired candidate should possess a strong work ethic, be capable of receiving and following instruction, and be willing and able to participate in strenuous physical activity at times.
- The ability to work outdoor during all weather conditions is required.
- Candidates with previous experience in landscape maintenance, maintenance, construction, or the willingness to learn is preferred.
Job Responsibilities
Common job-related tasks as a part of the Facilities Management team includes assistance with or involvement in the following:
- Site and grounds maintenance including snow removal activities, landscape maintenance, miscellaneous light construction or maintenance projects, waste management / recycling programs, surplus material moving, special event set-up and tear down, other maintenance activities as assigned by the Director.
- Student must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Such opportunities include involvement in projects associated with campus sustainability, energy conservation, landscape/horticultural projects, and other projects involving the growth and betterment of the Eastern Campus. Applicant Qualifications
- Must have a GPA of 2.5 or above
- Customer service oriented with an ability to interact with diverse populations through various forms of communication (telephone, in-person, email).
- Excellent verbal communication and listening skills
- Knowledge of general office equipment and skills such as filing, typing, organization, and basic computer skills (including Microsoft Office Suite)
Job Responsibilities
- Serves students and visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately
- Notifies advisors of student arrival
- Maintains department schedule
- Answers phone for the department
- Takes tuition payments
