The Classical Civilization minor is a 16-credit hour program that offers students a broad overview of ancient Greek and Roman cultures. It includes core courses in Greek and Roman Civilization, a 2000-level elective on topics ranging from mythology to ancient cities, and advanced electives in areas such as literature, religion, and philosophy. A 1-credit colloquium encourages academic reflection and discussion.
While the minor in classical civilization does not prepare you for a specific career or graduate program, your studies in classics will help prospective employers or admissions committees take note of your ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ degree. The classics minor will give you some focused instruction and practice in the reading and analysis of important classical texts that raise fundamental questions about our culture and society.
